Terms of Service

1. Platform Purpose

RideLedger provides passengers and independent drivers with a tool to communicate, schedule rides, and log trip history. RideLedger does not arrange, broker, or participate in any transportation service and is not responsible for the conduct of any driver using the platform.

2. Passenger Responsibilities

By using RideLedger, you agree to:

• Provide accurate contact and pickup/dropoff location information
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws during rides
• Respect driver property, safety, and instructions
• Negotiate pricing, payment method, and scheduling directly with drivers
• Take full responsibility for all interactions and agreements with drivers

3. Independent Agreements

All ride arrangements made through or facilitated by RideLedger are direct agreements between you and the driver. RideLedger does not control, influence, mediate, or guarantee any ride or agreement. RideLedger does not process payments or resolve disputes between drivers and passengers.

4. Limitation of Liability

RideLedger is not liable for any accidents, injuries, property damage, financial losses, disputes, or any other damages arising from rides or driver-passenger interactions. By using this platform, you agree to hold RideLedger and its owners harmless from any and all claims related to transportation, ride safety, or driver conduct. This limitation of liability includes, but is not limited to, any disputes or claims arising from user-generated agreements or messages marked as "Agreements" within the platform.

5. User-Generated Agreements

RideLedger provides a feature that allows users to mark messages within chat as "Agreements" for the purpose of organizing and referencing ride-related details such as price, date, time, and other terms. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Any message marked as an "Agreement" is user-generated content intended solely as a record-keeping and organizational tool.
• RideLedger does not review, verify, enforce, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or validity of any agreement marked within the platform.
• Marking a message as an "Agreement" does not create a legally binding contract with RideLedger, nor does it make RideLedger a party to any agreement between users.
• All agreements — including pricing, scheduling, and services — remain solely between you and the driver.

6. Data & Privacy

RideLedger stores your contact information, messages, and ride history solely to support platform functionality. You must not share driver or other passenger personal information outside the app without explicit consent. All stored data is encrypted and protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

7. Prohibited Activities

Passengers may not use RideLedger to:

• Harass, assault, or threaten any driver or other user
• Make fraudulent claims or misrepresent information
• Misuse the RideLedger platform or circumvent its intended purpose
• Share personal data of other users outside this platform without consent

8. Acceptance of Terms

RideLedger reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Users acknowledge that any "Agreement" feature within RideLedger is for documentation purposes only and does not constitute a legally enforceable contract facilitated or guaranteed by RideLedger.
